for those of you who asked for birth story [12 Apr 2009|01:45pm]
Very sorry guys this is gonna be a slightly long BS.

After loads of problems with high blood pressure and the hospital messing around, I was finaly admited to Labour Ward on Thursday evening 29th Jan to begin induction. At around 8pm I was given a prostyn gel and sent up to a ward to rest and see if anything happend. Nothing did and after waiting most of the day to see a Dr to review me and decide what they would like to do it was 3pm before she arrived on ward. They decided to use another prostyn and wait overnight again with the posibility of a 3rd prostyn Saturday. Anyway at around 2am I started pains and my mucus plug was also finaly coming away. By 6 the pains were a lot worse, a bath and pain killers did not help.

A Dr came round to review at about 9 and she decided that they would send me down to Labour as it was now possible to break my waters and put me on the drip rarther than another prostyn. So at 11 I was down on Labour ward and had my waters broken and placed on the drip. Pains satarted to get worse and closer throughout the next couple of hours but it wasn't till around 2 that I started on Gas n Air. At 3 I decided I needed a pethidine injection which was given. I was examined again at 4 and was 3cm Dilated so things moving nicely.

Contractions increased rapidly over the next 2 hours so much so the brought forward the 8pm examination to 6pm where they discoverd I was now 7cm Dilated. Another hour passed and I felt as if I was ready to push, MW checked and I was fully Dilated and was told I could push when I wanted.

I pushed for an hour and 1/2 without anymore pain relife yet nothing was happening much. I was checked over by a senior MW who was worried the baby wasn't moving down so she had to get a Dr. After 3 Drs and another 15 mins of pushing it was decided that I would need to be taken in for an Emergency C Section as to contiune the labour would have been traumatic for baby and myself as by that time I felt I could push no more.

I opted to have a spinal so Craig could be present as well, so I was taken down while he gowned up. When Craig arrived they were already working on me and after around 5 mins at 9.41pm on 31st Jan 2009 Clayton Craig William Harrison was born weighing 6lbs 10 1/2 oz.

Arrived home 3 days later had a good night with him. All is well.

Hope you are all well all I know is it is great to be a mum and home and had my baby in Jan.

He is now 10wks old and time is going so fast. Will update properly in the next few days with a pic as well.

hospital visit update on high BP [24 Jan 2009|02:32pm]
All is well with Clayton but I still have extremely high BP now, had blood tests and am waiting for results as they suspect possible pre eclampsia especially as I have protein and leucocytes in urine. Depending on results depends if I will get induced today, if not have to do 24hr urine sample and go hospital to check BP on Mon night then Wed morning have to go to FMU to have BP done again and then see consultant. Either way I have been told that I shouldn't need the mw appointment I have booked at my doctors on Thurs. Oh and I am measuring 41 wks as well.

When are you coming? [23 Jan 2009|03:59pm]
[ mood | drained ]

I am 40wks+3 pregnant and I went to midwife yesterday and my blood pressure was high so she took it again at th end of the usual checks and it still came up high with the exact same reading. After asking me all the usual questions to try and rule out pre eclampsia she rang the labour ward to get some advice. I was told they may want me to go labour ward for BP monitoring but they were very busy so they suggested a home visit the next day and that if I got any more syptoms of worries to ring them.

The Midwife arrived and took my blood pressure and it was quite high for me (much higher than yesterday) so after asking some questions she then rang labour ward to check if they wanted me to go up for BP monitoring. They suggested checking it again tomorrow either by home visit or at antenatal clinic at hospital but again if I got any more symptoms or had any worries to ring them. So I have an appointment at hospital at 11.15 tomorrow morning to have my BP checked and depending on the result I may know some more about when my baby boy is going to make an appearance.

Eventfull late night shopping [22 Jan 2009|04:42am]
[ mood | awake ]

Well I have been having problems sleeping as its very uncomfortable because I was due to give birth on 20th of this month and there is still no sign of anything happening. Went for a lie down earlier on in the evening and managed to get a couple of hours of refreshing sleep so decided I would go to bed in early hours of the morning which is why I am up now at this time typing this.

We went to Tescos supermarket to get some shopping and kill some time and just as we had finished paying for our shopping and was chatting to the woman on the till who we knew the fire alarm went off. I was glad we had finished paying for our shopping especially as we had paid by card otherwise we would have had to wait for all to be declared safe etc to go back into the store to get shopping and bank card and at that time of morning and in the pouring down rain that wouldn't have been good. It was funny to see all the staff pile out of the shop but a bit concerning that there was still no sign of any fire engines when we left the shop car park so hopefully there was not a real fire.

I really thought the next eventful thing to happen in my life would be the birth of my baby boy but obviously not lol.

39wks+2 and fed up [15 Jan 2009|04:48pm]
[ mood | blah ]

ok so I had a MW appointment today at 39wks and 2 days and Clayton is still not engaged, his head is down but the MW could move it from side to side. I am in pain and getting fed up,she told me I looked anxious and to go away and try and enjoy the next couple of weeks trying to relax, make the most of being pregnant and of the fact there is just me and Craig as once Clayton's born there is no going back. It is easier said than done as I am getting fed up now but at least it means I can finish tidying the living room and rearranging the kitchen unless he decides he's going to make a surprise appearance.

Hope you are all ok xxx

doctors [23 Dec 2008|03:37pm]
[ mood | anxious ]

I had a call from doctors and have to go and pick up a prescription, don't know what for but am guessing its to do with the results of my urine sample from last week.

Am back from the doctors and the prescription is for iron tablets, apparently the hospital requested them must have been from the blood test I had last week.

So now I have hemaroids, severe water infection and a lack of iron but it'll all be worth it in the end.

midwife update [19 Dec 2008|01:08pm]
[ mood | anxious ]

Yesterday I went for a routine appointment with midwife, I am now 35wks +2 and needed to have a blood test done as the next two weeks where I should of seen MW fall on Christmas and New Year. There was a student MW there to and she was really good, when she tested my urine sample she discovered protein and something else that was apparently off the scale so the MW rushed out the room to see a doctor to get me a prescription for antibiotics and the student MW asked if I had had any back pain as I had a severe water infection.

As it happens I had been experiencing back pain the last few days not realising what it meant I had also had what I thought was braxton hicks the day before but it turns out that they probably weren't and the MW advised me that if I get any contractons to ring the labour ward straight away as my UTI is that severe it can bring on early labour.

She gave me a prescription for antibiotics and said although it would mean squeezing them in in a shorter space of time than normal I must take one straight away and fit three in that day before bed to try and attack the UTI straight away. All the other usual checks were done and bubs is fine, strong heartbeat and I am measuring 36wks. The only thing is he is head down but his back is to the right hand side of my ribs instead of the ideal place of in the middle so need to try and get him to move.

Hubby is great but as you can imagine he is slightly stressed and worrying a bit more now, he didn't go to sleep till 5am this morning as he was watching over me because I was snoring and making strange noises he said.

yuck.......... Nursery and scan [08 Dec 2008|06:11am]
[ mood | blah ]

why on earth am I awake at this hour, simple answer is one of the reasons is heartburn which is made worse by having a really bad cold/flu at least it means I can listen to Craig on the radio. Will wait for him to come in just after 7 and have huggles and try and get some sleep then.

On a plus note the nursery is all painted thanks to a kind friend who did it for free and the room is nearly sorted and so is our bedroom just need to find a toybox now me thinks so getting there as 34wks on Tuesday.

We have our last growth scan on Wed and I am hoping that Clayton has moved around as he has been lying breech since 24wks and we see the mw the week after. Craig's mum and hubby are coming up on Tues to bring xmas pressies up, it will be nice to see them as its been ages and they haven't seen my bump or felt bubs move as they live in Norfolk.

Hope all is AWAP with you all xxx

ill !!!!!!!! [15 Nov 2008|05:45pm]
[ mood | blank ]

since about Wednesday I have felt a bit snuffly and under the weather and over the next couple of days it transpired that I have got the flu, I am really tired anyway at the minute but this is wiping me out. I have tried to sleep most of it off and can only take paracetamol and lockets/soothers because of being PG but one thing that doesn't seem to be affected though is my appetite as I have wanted to do nothing but eat especially today. I am hoping that it will clear up in the next few days as I have loads still to do for when Clayton is born and need the energy to do it.

Midwife Visit [15 Nov 2008|05:26pm]
[ mood | calm ]

Just to update everyone, I will be 31 wks PG on Tuesday. I am quite lucky that because of a few problems the hospital are keeping an eye on me and bubs so I have had a few extra scans and had one at 28wks at the hospital, this meant that I didn't need to visit my community MW at my doctors and wouldn't need to see anyone again till 34 wks and I have another growth scan booked then so will only need to go hospital for that.

I did need to get a form signed by my MW though so went to see her at my doctors last Thursday at 30wks. I thought she might be a little funny with me for taking up an appointment just to fill in a form but she was lovely She was really chatty, made a point of reading my notes and asking me a couple of questions and did a thorough examination. We heard Clayton's heartbeat and she measured my stomach etc.She told us that he is still in breech position which he has been since about 24wks as he was at my 28wk scan. He has plenty of time to change position and am hoping that by my 34wk growth scan that he has turned round.

She talked to us about the fact that we didn't need to come back at 34wks like most as we had the hospital appointment but said she would book us in with her in two weeks so we had an appointment in between which was nice.

Hope everyone is AWAP xxx

Where does the time go??? [11 Nov 2008|02:32am]
[ mood | cheerful ]

I cannot believe that I only have 70 days till Clayton's due date.It seems like forever since we started or IVF treatment back in April but since I fell pregnant the time has flew by.

Yesterday I decided I wanted to listen to his heartbeat on the doppler I have and he was so excitable, his heartbeat was really fast and loud and he kept kicking the doppler up in the air. It is amazing to think that I am 30 weeks pregnant and will soon be in single figures as since I entered the 3rd trimester we have been counting down instead of up especially since we thought that this experience would never be possible.

The pregnancy has gone quite well and although I have been tired all through my pregnancy the last few weeks have been very tiring. We had a growth scan the other week and all was well, it was great to get to see our little boy again and we have another one booked for 34 weeks.

Clayton is very active and Was lying in breech position at our last scan. He knows our voices when we talk to him especially his daddy's which is amazing when you know he is reacting to you. We have started getting things ready for when Clayton's born and have bought most things, its just the practical side of the house being ready which can be stressful but we are nearly there. We went to our antenatal class last week and for a tour of the labour ward and both of these were really informative and enjoyable and I am still considering a water birth.

I will leave it there as I need to attempt to get some sleep but I think bubs has other ideas lol. Hope you are all AWAP xxx

doctors [03 Oct 2008|09:15am]
[ mood | anxious ]

well am off to doctors soon to see if I have ringworm or not on my stomach amongst other places. I had a mark on my stomach but because of all the injections I had there with the IVF I thought nothing of it and had dry skin on the top inside of my legs (near groin area) which I thought was just that but now I think it might be ringworm so am seeking a medical attention especially with part o it being on my stomache and being 24wks pregnant.

Hope you are all AWAP xxx
